Compare two silhouettes

Sketch the outline of two hats at a similar scale. Compare crown height, brim shape and where trim sits. Describing these visible features is a useful exercise even when you do not know the maker or period.

Keep the finished note with its date and source material. Return to it when you repeat the exercise, and add what changed rather than replacing the earlier observation.
